THE National Capital District Volleyball Association has confirmed its top five teams in all divisions and will start its elimination and qualifying matches on Saturday at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre.
The top five are: Scorpions, Lavukoloa, Jamas, Ela Motors, Vailima, (men’s premier); Telikom, Scorpions, U-Mi Yet, Jamas, Vailima, (women’s premier); Jamas, Lavukoloa, Ela Motors, Scorpions, U-Mi Yet, (men’s A grade); U-Mi Yet, Telikom, Jamas, Lavukoloa, Scorpions, (women’s A grade).
Newcomers Lavukoloa must recover from their 3-0 loss to Jamas last week when the two teams meet again in the men’s premier qualifying match.
The inclusion of setter Kala Kila gives Jamas a big advantage but that will only eventuate with good passing from back court.
The Gereka men have done well in their debut season, finishing on top two, but playing finals is a different challenge and a lot will depend on how they handle the pressure.
The winner advances to play Scorpions next week.
U-Mi Yet will play Scorpions in the women’s premier grade qualifying final with the winner taking on minor premiers Telikom.
