NEW facilities for the Konzka Primary School in Jimi district is expected to improve the education standard and enable children to study in a conducive learning environment.
It is now a Level Four Primary School, which started as an elementary institution in 2003, and a feeder school for the St Paul’s Karap Primary School.
MP Mai Dop handed over the keys to the new double classroom and new staff quarters to the school management.
Headmaster Mathew Elling Mal said the funding came from the District Development Authority (DDA).
Dop allocated K110,000 to the Konzka Primary School in 2015 – K100,000 for the double classroom and K10,000 for the staff house.
Dop promised to fund another double classroom for the school early next year before the 2017 election.
The school confirmed that it had also built a security premises funded by the DDA for K40,000.
The district also plans to build a new health centre for K50,000 at Ngamba village to benefit the school and community.
Tapi Lutheran church circuit president Michael Tai thanked a Lutheran church congregation in Germany for donating textbooks and other classroom materials worth K10,000.
