New MP elect joins ruling party camp

NEW member elect for Wewak open seat in East Sepik and People’s Progress Party candidate Kevin Isifu has joined the ruling party’s camp in Alotau, Milne Bay.
Speaking to The National in Port Moresby he left for camp, Isifu said he was keen on bringing service to the people in his electorate.
The first time politician took time to acknowledge the people in Wewak district including his supporters and others who also contested the seat.
“I will work with everyone and the new Governor (East Sepik),” he said.
“I want to bring service to my people, priority areas are infrastructure, law and order and agriculture amongst others.
“I want to work with all intellects, all sectors, implement the Wewak town plan and give Wewak a facelift.”
National Alliance candidate Allan Bird won the East Sepik governor’s seat yesterday.
Others already declared for the province include; Angoram MP Salio Waipo (NA), Yangoru Saussia MP Richard Maru (PNC), Maprik MP John Simon (NA), Ambunti Dreikikir MP Johnson Wapunai (PNC) and Wosera Gawi MP Joseph Yopyyopy (Melanesian Alliance).
