Nines comp heads into semifinals

THE Lakwaharu cup and development trophy categories have 12 teams in contention for each crown after the playoffs at Sebore oval yesterday.
The organisers have yet to finalize the quarterfinal draws for the cup, plate, bowl and trophy for today’s showdown at Sebore.
This venue will also host the semifinals and finals.
In the cup playoffs, the Norris Selu-coached North Dingoes maintained their unbeaten run taking out Warriors (1) 16-4, Taurama Gaveraia with for former Isapea flyer Pipi Kilori stopped AC Highlanders 10-0, Waga Hotz upset Adam Korave’s Variarata Black Eagles 14-10, Chiko Mairi’s Saroa Seidas beat Mix Mates Bulldogs 8-4, HB Brothers beat Taboro Sharks 16-6, Warriors (2) accounted for the New Warriors 14-10, Bara Dugongs held off the Lalo Eels 10-4 and Marshall Bugs edged Lakwaharu Niusere 18-16.
While in the trophy playoffs, Poreporena Marlins beat Gabagaba 4-0, Centre Point belted Borenomu Flyers 20-8, Young Bugs kept Lakwaharu Niusere scoreless 10-0 and Gereka Sharks mauled TI Friends 8-4. Lakwaharu founder and director Micky Kone said that the winners in the cup playoffs had advanced to the  semifinals while the losers dropped to play for the plate. The trophy playoff winners moved to the semis while the losers bowed out of the campaign.
“The semifinals and finals will be played on Friday. Taurama Gaveraia, Marshall Bugs, Waga Hotz and North Dingoes are looking good,” Kone said.
