Nukunj vows to continue serving people

The Member for Dei in Western Highlands, Wesley Nukunj has retained his seat to serve a second term in parliament.
The People’s National Congress party candidate polled 21,056 votes to beat his rival Tui Ekil, who scored 18,148 votes to finish in second place.
Returning officer for Dei, Batamai Tipi declared Nukundi at about 2pm yesterday at Kimininga Police Barracks counting centre.
Western Highlands Governor Paias Wingti, provincial administrator Joseph Neng, chairman of provincial election steering committee Stanley Maip, and security personnel witnessed the member-elect signs the election writ.
Nukunj thanked the people of Dei for having confidence and trust in him.
He said that it was not a mistake when people re-elected him.
“I carried out many projects in the district like building four new high schools, roads, bridges, classrooms, teachers’ houses, and many others which I did not officially open.”
He said that he would continue from where he had left.
Nukunj vowed to continuing working with Governor Paias Wingti and the other open MPs from the province.
