SUVA: One of PNG’s best rugby league players has picked Fiji to reach the finals of the Rugby League World Cup in Australia in November.
Melbourne Storm’s Justin Olam, who returned to Australia yesterday after a week’s rest in Fiji, said the Fiji Bati had the experience and the to be among the top finishers.
“Fiji will beat Wales, USA and Italy in its pool games,” Olam said.
“The Fiji Bati with NRL players and we islanders are renowned as strong players in the world. European sides are not as strong and Fiji has all the advantage in experience, speed and strength. If Fiji plays well, they will reach the finals.”
He accompanied his friend and Vodafone Fiji Bati rep Tui Kamikamica to the opening of the BLK@The Pearl, an outlet of sportswear manufacturer which is also the apparel supplier of the Fiji Bati.
Kamikamica said he would work hard to be among the best players in the World Cup and looked forward to meeting his friend in October’s Tri-Nations tests between Australia, PNG and Fiji in Suva. – FijiTimes
