KUNDIAWA-Gembogl MP William Onguglo was sworn in by Speaker Job Pomat on Monday.
It is the second last seat to be declared in the 111-member Parliament.
The only seat left is the Southern Highlands regional seat which is being counted in Mt Hagen.
Onguglo said the conduct of the 2017 general election could have been better but he thanked “those who stood firm to successfully deliver this election”.
He thanked the people of Kundiawa for their votes and for having confidence and trust in him and he pledged to do his best to address the people’s needs.
“I thank the people of Kundiawa-Gembogl for their trust and confidence in me,” Onguglo said.
“I will do my best to address their needs through economic empowerment, especially in the agriculture sector.”
He pledged to work with Chimbu Governor Michael Dua and the other five MPs to develop the province.
Dua, Sinasina-Yongomugl MP Kerenga Kua and Karimui-Nomane MP Geoffrey Kama congratulated Onguglo on his victory.
Dua said they must work together irrespective of which side of Parliament they were sitting.
