Paga get boost for finals push

PORT Moresby Rugby League pioneer club Paga Panthers’ 13 years of prayer were answered by a local businessman with a sponsorship of K20,000 ,which is set to make an impact in their run in the premier competition.
The good Samaritan was PNG Wasteco Limited chief executive officer Dickson Samai, who got on the Panthers bandwagon as the major sponsor to drive it forward to the next level.
Samai said this was the first single largest sponsorship from his firm to support a sporting organisation in the city and he hoped that the money would be put into good use by the club.
He said former PNG Hunters player Roger Laka convinced him to invest in the club because the players had respect for one another and adhered to strict discipline on and off the field.
“I’m sure this money will be put to good use to benefit the club.”
Paga strongman Richard Wagambie and wife Jacklyn added that it was a timely boost, with the A grade and women’s teams in the grand final scheduled for Sept 25 at the NFS.
