Parents told to educate children

CHILDREN formed in mothers’ wombs are amazing and miraculous gifts from God, a Lutheran pastor in Morobe says.
Rev Ba’afeke Bameringnuc said parents, therefore, had a serious responsibility to raise their children from an early stage to understand the source of all creation and distinguish wrong from right.
However, he said in the current situation, parents neglected their position and everyday job to ensure children were aptly nurtured with the right kind of mental abilities to understand the challenges in a world created by human ideas.
Bameringnuc said this when inviting parents at the Calvary Lutheran Church in China Town, Lae to accompany their children to their Sunday school retreat from July 28-30.
“The Sunday school pupil’s retreat is to provide an avenue to enhance children’s spiritual beings apart from developing social, mental and physical beings at homes and early childhood schools,” he said.
The activities will comprise of sharing creative dances and songs with drama presentations and sharing food with devotion.
The theme of the event is extracted from Psalms 33:3-4 that reads “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy. For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does”.
Bameringnuc said that children were a blessing and joy to
families from God and parents were to nurture them accordingly – physically, spiritually, socially
and mentally.
“Children’s formation in mothers’ womb and birth unto the world is an amazing gift from God, thus parental responsibilities to rear them at an early age is crucial
to enable children to understand
the source of all creation and distinguish right from wrong,” Bameringnuc said.
