A POLICE station commander in Central is warning the public, especially young women, to be careful during the elections in the coming weeks.
Chief Sergeant Kwaipo Gimana, from the Kwikila Police Station, said the election period had historically seen higher incidents of underage pregnancy and spread of HIV/AIDS. Speaking during an awareness campaign at Kalo village in Hula, Gimana said there was a lot of underage pregnancy in Central villages.
“During the election period, a lot of candidates and supporters will carry cash to lure voters and young girls are vulnerable in such situations,” he said.
