PRICES for petrol, diesel and kerosene in Port Moresby have increased by between 4toea and 8toea this month.
The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said petrol price went up by 4toea to K3.06, and diesel increased by 8toea to K2.53.
Price of kerosene increased by 6toea to K2.36.
The increases were attributed to the rise in the import parity prices.
Commissioner and chief executive officer Paulus Ain said the increase in the IPP was caused by the increase in the Mean of Platts Singapore last month.
Ain said as part of the commission’s role, officers would conduct inspections at all service stations to ensure that the prices of petroleum products did not exceed the maximum approved prices.
