A photo exhibition held last Friday at the Korean Garden Restaurant in Port Moresby was intended to bridge the geographical distance between Papua New Guinea and South Korea, says Korean Ambassador, Kwam Bum-soo.
The photo exhibition was also aimed to show the significant environmental friendliness and scientific excellence of South
Korea to the people of Papua New Guinea.
He said the embassy was doing a lot in it’s efforts to make Korean customs and traditions known to Papua New Guineans.
“South Korea has a long history of over 5000 years. Seeing a variety of pre-historical remains together with modern architecture in South Korea from such a photo exhibition would allow visitors to enjoy a time machine travel experience,”  Bum-soo said.
Featured photographs included those of modern and traditional architecture and ceremonies as well as Korean food.
Bum-soo also stressed that although the photo exhibition presented the national interest of South Korea, it also represented the national interest of Papua New Guinea in South Korea.
“Korean photo exhibition should work in a way of revealing portal reality. So this might really help breaching the distance between our two countries.”
