PNG Power gets new generators for centres

PNG Power Limited has received the six new generators it bought from China to replace the old ones.
Acting chief executive officer Alex Oa said the generators (Cummins brand KTA50-G3) were similar to the ones already in use at power stations around the country.
One will be used in Wewak, one for Wabag, one each for Buka and Arawa in Bougainville, one for Kimbe and one for Kokopo.
Oa said the new generators were bought to replace “aging units and leased generators”.
Six generators also bought from China earlier were generating power in Vanimo, Popondetta, Manus, Kavieng, Alotau and Wewak.
