Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae and the Ambassador of Switzerland to PNG promised to strengthen the bilateral and the multilateral relationship between the two countries for people’s benefit.
Sir Bob in welcoming the ambassador, Yasmine Chatila Zwahlen, appreciated the government of Switzerland for its continued support.
He accepted Zwahlen’s letter of credence.
“I take this opportunity to thank you for conveying the respect and friendship of the government and people of Switzerland to the government and people of PNG,” Sir Bob said.
“We are indeed pleased to receive you and look forward to enhancing and furthering the already good bilateral relations that exist between the two countries since formally establishing diplomatic relations 41 years ago.
“PNG further acknowledges the representation of Switzerland through its honorary consul-general, a respected Papua New Guinean, Victor Wong, and the commitment given by Switzerland through its various cooperation endeavours in areas of education, health, research, climate change, religion and social welfare activities throughout PNG and the Pacific.”
