PNG WiB invite experts to discuss agri-tourism

THE PNG Women in Business is inviting two international experts on agri-tourism to visit the country next year.
Executive director Janet Sape said the two were Robert Oliver, a well-known cook book author and television presenter, and Ena Harvey, an expert on agri-tourism representing the Inter- American Institute for Cooperation and Agriculture.
She is an expert on agri-tourism, food tourism and food festivals in the Caribbean.
She met them at the Pacific Agri-business conference held in Apia, Samoa last month.
“Their experience and qualification in running agri-tourism in a large scale can assist our local people in boosting tourism and agriculture in our country,” she said.
“We have fresh agriculture produce and the best tourism destination sites still untapped.
“They can bring a lot to the country to motivate our people, especially mothers, to benefit from agri-tourism.”
IICA is an institution that provides technical cooperation, innovation and specialised knowledge to contribute to the competitive and sustainable development of agriculture in the America’s and to improve the lives of rural dwellers in the member countries.
