POLICE are investigating the death of a teacher at the Banaule Primary School in Kimbe, West New Britain late last month.
Provincial police commander Supt Jim Namora said the teacher died in the early hours of Sunday, July 30, at Banaule village along the Hoskins Road.
Namora said it was not election-related.
Detectives from the Kimbe police station are awaiting the autopsy report.
He said three people died in the past two months over ethnic rows between people living in Ward Five and Ward Eight in the Talasea LLG.
The fight was between the Bamba, Dire and Liapo villages.
Namora said a separate incident involving rival clans at the Namova Primary School along the Komovavo Road also in Talasea had been attended to by police. He said life was returning to normal in Kimbe after the national election.
Kimbe main market is bustling while business houses and schools were back in operation.
