POM soccer to play washed out matches

THE Port Moresby Soccer Association will stage its wash-out matches for the FA Cup at Bomana Correctional Service Training College Oval this weekend.
Match cCcoordinator Robert Sabadi said pool C and pool D will play their outstanding matches this weekend to complete their season before the finals next week.
Sabadi said it was a one-round competition and the two top teams would qualify for the final series.
There are two pool A matches which should also see who finishes first.
Sabadi said the winner will take out the FA Cup but there will also be a minor prize for the second place-getters.
He warned that those teams who have not completed their registration/affliation fee of K700 will not be eligible for the finals.
Teams who made the top-two must ensure all registration formalities are met before they play the finals.
In the women’s game, Tarangau and Yamaros are likely to play the final after winning their respective matches, while a struggling Guria outfit and Mungkas may kiss goodbye to the season.
Sabadi said in they would verify after this weekend’s match who would make the women’s finals for this year.
“It is a four-team competition, with Yamaros and Tarangau the only consistent teams attending the football matches at Bomana,” he said.
