Puma pumps in K20 million to upgrade Alotau terminal

PUMA Energy PNG Limited, the only national downstream player in Papua New Guinea, is investing K20 million in the upgrading of its terminal at Alotau, Milne Bay.
The company is building a modern facility to cater for the anticipated growth and the market demand in Alotau. The decision to upgrade the facilities reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to invest in Papua New Guinea and to better serve the coastal community of Milne Bay.
Barnabas Isei officiated on behalf of the Milne Bay government at the ground-breaking ceremony on Aug 9, by the terminal team and construction crew.
The upgrading of the Alotau terminal will involve installing a new storage tank, pump station, truck loading gantry, fire suppression system, shoreline protection and an office.
The upgrade will also increase the terminal storage capacity to meet customer demand and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
The project team aims to complete the construction and commissioning of the upgraded facilities by next August.
