Questions over political marriage

Letters

I AM saddened by the formation of our new government.
I cannot come to terms with the political marriage of the People’s Progress Party (PPP) and the People’s National Congress (PNC).
As a concerned citizen I find it hard to believe that PPP leader and elderly statesman Sir Julius Chan has led his flock of elected members to align with Prime Minister Peter O’Neill’s PNC to form the new government.
I suspect that his decision to join the Alotau camp against National Alliance is because their candidate beat his son Byron for the Namatanai open seat and his party leader Ben Micah lost the Kavieng open seat to another NA candidate.
