Ramu Golf ZOpen hosts 10th successful tourney

THE Ramu Golf Club, a private 18-hole course owned and operated by the Ramu Agri Industries Limited staged its annual open tournament earlier in the month.
The event which ran from Nov 19-20 had Bank South Pacific as the naming right sponsor to the Ramu Open Golf championship for the 10th consecutive year.
RAIL’s financial controller Chaminda Priyankara said the open had been a popular event on the campany’s calendar. More than 150 golfers from clubs around the country competed at the open while enjoying the Ramu hospitality over the two days.
Priyankara said Ela Motors provided a Toyota Hilux Double cab as the prize for the “Hole in One” on the 13th hole on the first day.
The eventual gross winner in the men’s division was Port Moresby’s Morgan Annato with teammate Ismael Lalae finishing second and Goroka’s Junior Kundi in at third.
