Rape suspects appear in court

TWO men who allegedly raped a doctor in her home appeared from custody at Bomana Committal Court last Friday.
Douglas Joseph Anaupa, 33, from Okapa in Eastern Highlands and Joe Bomai, 24, from Chuave in Chimbu, allegedly broke into the house of the victim at 4-Mile in National Capital District, on July 1 and allegedly raped her.
Anaupa and Bomai were charged with rape, breaking and entering and stealing.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Anaupa and Bomai that police were yet to complete their investigations about their alleged crime that took place on July 1.
It was alleged that in the early hours of July 1 this year, Anaupa, Bomai and eight other men broke into the house of the victim, a doctor.
The two and the other men allegedly raped the victim and stole valuables in her house worth over K7500.
The men will remain in custody until their case returns to court on Oct 14.
