Replace incompetent officers

I READ with surprise reports of poor performance by Treasury and National Planning officers and that of the Department of Lands (The National, Oct 17) being involved in dubious deals. Though I commend the Chief Secretary, Issac Lapuri, for stamping his feet hard on such poor performance and practices, I would be more happy if he simply sacked all these incompetent and dishonest officers from occupying public offices instead of condemning their actions. Their actions are the cause of the people’s suffering, yet we don’t realise at most times and are always blaming the Government. It’s time for Lupari to sack incompetent officers, replace them and solve the problem once and for all.
