A RESERVE police officer charged with rape and unlawful deprivation of liberty appeared at Waigani committal court in Port Moresby yesterday.
Benjamin Bala from Tubuserea in Central allegedly locked up a woman against her will and raped her at the Boroko police station after he arrested her three others on June 22.
The court heard that the police officer who was investigating the matter did not complete the hand up brief.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Bala that his matter would return to court on Nov 25, to give time to the police to complete investigations and possibly serve a file to him.
Police allege that on June 22 the victim, two men and another woman were arrested by Bala for drinking in a public place, in NCD.
It was alleged that Bala took them to the Boroko police station and locked up the men but took the victim into his office and raped her.
