Rotary club donates desks to school

THE Port Moresby Rotary Club has donated 30 desks to the Hohola Sacred Heart Elementary School.
The club’s president-elect Malcolm Middleton said education was one of the areas the Rotary looked at to help the community.
They give out about 1000 desks a year to schools in Port Moresby.
“Rotary is a group of men and women who are committed to giving back to the community. It’s all about service to the people,” he said.
“I am pleased to present these desks to you on behalf of Port Moresby Rotary and I wish you success in your education.”
Primary school head teacher Pokatau Litau thanked the Rotarians and urged he students to look after the desks.
Hohola Sacred Heart Elementary School head teacher Mareta Joel said she had about 800 students.
“We are really privileged to receive this donation, it will solve some of the problems we have in the classrooms,” Joel said.
