Ruling to be made on students’ bail application

THREE University of Technology students alleged to have killed a fellow student will appear in the Lae Committal Court this week for a ruling on their bail application filed by their lawyer.
The application was presented to police last Wednesday and police submissions will be completed this week.
The police prosecutor said the students’ case was a serious matter and more time was needed to look through the submissions presented by their lawyer.
The three have been remanded at the Buimo prison and will appear before Lae Committal Court magistrate Jeremiah Singomat this week.
Singomat had adjourned the case to allow fairness in the prosecution process.
The three students from Enga – Lawerance Simon, 22, from Sakales village in Wabag, Lorry Paul, 22 from Lanakep village in Wabag and Gideon Luio, 21, from Kaikin village in Wapenamanda – were alleged to have been involved in the death of a fellow student, Graham Romanyong on June 30 at the Unitech campus following continuous unrest.
