THE East New Britain administration has assisted the committee for secondary and high schools in the province with K250,000.
Acting provincial administrator Wilson Matava said the start of term three was a blessing
in disguise for the committee when the provincial administration presented the funding
to support this year’s academic activities.
Matava also commended principals and site leaders of some secondary schools who hosted counting of ballot papers during the elections, saying they did well in prioritising education alongside the national event.
Chairman of the committee and Kokopo Secondary School principal Paul Raia thanked Matava, who is also the provincial education board chairman, deputy provincial administrator Levi Mano, acting governor Cosmas Bauk and provincial education adviser Hubert Wangun for their wisdom
and continuous support for education.
He said the money would cover educational activities such as academic challenges between schools, staff in-services, hosting of the career expo and a provincial education symposium planned for this year.
All these are captured in the
East New Britain education calendar for promoting a conducive learning environment at provincial level.
