Sex assaults reported to Manus cops

rape and sexual abuse of two young girls in Manus are part of some major crimes there reported to police recently.
Police commander Chief Inspector David Yapu said a Highlands man was assaulted at Cancer Hill, Upper Ward Six during the weekend, rushed to Lorengau General Hospital and treated, with a piece of
wood removed from his head.
Police arrested one suspect but others remain at large.
A 12-year-old girl attending a primary school at Rambutso Island in the Rapotona LLG was allegedly raped by a known suspect.
Police went to Rambutso Island and arrested him. He is in custody.
A nine-year-old girl attending a primary school in Lorengau town, was sexually abused by a youth who was arrested but released to a probation officer and returned to the parents’ custody.
A break and enter incident was reported at a residence at Ward Three in Lorengau town and goods worth K1787 were stolen from the house.
Police are investigating.
