The top four teams in the four divisions of the Pacific MMI Port Moresby Corporate Snooker competition start the finals playoff this week.
After 15 weeks, the minor premiership in the premier grade went to PMMI top shooters.
Dragons took out the minor premiership in A grade. In B grade the title went to PMMI Turas while in C grade Bank PNG Cannons took out the minor premiership.
The preliminary finals on Monday night in the premier grade saw Top Shooters face second-placed Lamana 1 while Lamana 2 were up against DKS Automotive.
In the A grade last night, minor premiers Dragons met second-placed PMMI Car Club at the Q Club while at Laguna Hotel, Phoenix Kasens took on PMMI Titans.
In the B grade preliminary finals tonight PMMI Turas go up against Phoenix Kasens at the Q Club while at the Laguna Hotel third-placed Dragons take on PMMI Car Club with the winner to advance to the next stage.
The C grade minor premiers BPNG Cannons advance straight to the grand final and will await the winner of PMMI Leftovers and PMMI Car Club who play their semi finals next Thursday. This is due to PMMI Turas being disqualified from the competition after numerous no-shows.
Tournament director Joey Chan said that in the event of a draw in premier grade, captains of both teams would nominate a player to play off in a best of three winner-takes-all game to decide the match.
He said that all four grades needed to adhere to dress regulations.
