Social Democratic Party candidate unseats Ganarafo

Social Democratic Party candidate Pogio Ghate has unseated Peoples National Congress party candidate Ron Ganarafo in the race for Daulo open seat in Eastern Highlands.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop is Social Democratic leader
Ghate, a private businessman, is the second Social Democratic party candidate to be declared.
Eastern Highlands has eight open seats Daulo, Unggai-Bena, Goroka, Lufa, Henganofi, Kainantu, Okapa and Obura-Wonenara.
So far, six were declared and those yet to be declared are Obura-Wonenara, Okapa and the regional seat.
The province’s MPs declared so far are Muriepe Kavori (Lufa , Henry Ame (Goroka), Robert Atiyafa (Henganofi), Johnson Tuke (Kainantu), and Benny Allan (Unggai-Bena).
The two open seats likely to be declared today followed by the regional seat.
Incumbent Julie Soso is still trailing Peter Numu in the race for the regional seat while businessman Simon Sia is running third.
