Something stinks in Lae

Letters

THE tin fish factory at Malahang along the 13A backroad in Lae, gives off a very bad smell through one of its outlet pipes and it is affecting the nearby Ahi villages and settlements.
There’s a pipeline located somewhere there which  probably hasn’t been maintained properly for a long time. On rainy days you would see steam coming out the pipe and it smells really bad.
People who live in nearby areas like Hanta, Paradise Foods compound, Martin Luther seminary, Yanga village and parts of the backroad know that the smell has been there for some years now.
The smell is bad throughout the day and it worse when it rains.
Can the relevant government and health authorities look into this?
