Soso opens impact projects in LLG

LOWER Bena local level government (LLG) in Unggai-Bena, Eastern Highlands, rolled out six impact projects this week.
President Robert Kutupa spearheaded the projects which were opened by Governor Julie Soso.
Soso commended Kutupa and his ward councillors for investing  K10,000 she gave to each ward and K300,000 to the LLG presidents in projects.
The projects included community water supply, a citrus fruit project, coffee, rural housing scheme and a portable sawmill for the people of Lower Bena area.
Soso said Lower Bena was one of the 24 LLGs in Eastern Highlands that she allocated funds. Women’s Associations in wards of eight districts also received K10,000 each.
“The coffee and citrus farmers received assistance under small-to-medium enterprises while others received under community development initiatives through a bottom-up approach,” Soso said.
She thanked the people for supporting her in the election and promised to continue providing assistance.
For the K200,000 water supply project, Tablelands Water and Sanitation Company set up the connection which is now serving more than 6,000 hamlets in the area.
