Where do spot fines go?

I AM confused as to where the money taken by police officers as spot fines ends up.
Does it end up in their own pockets?
No receipts or whatsoever are given.
Police officers must be aware that PNG is no longer like it used to be back in the  80s or 90s.
We are all educated.
