Staff told to improve services

Health workers throughout the country have been challenged to provide healthcare with the love and fear of God.
This was the key message that came out of the National Health Workers Conference in Northern.
Oro Health Workers Christian Fellowship caretaker president Linda Emui told the participants that delivery of healthcare was effective when done out of love and with reverence for God.
“Efficient health care is effective only when all health workers provide the healthcare services with the love and fear of God. I challenge the clinical staff who have direct contact with patients to show love in their job.”
Emui said the conference was for rural, urban and church health workers and urged all to attend such conferences in future to improve the standard of  delivery in healthcare.
She acknowledged the management of Popondetta General Hospital for the support which enabled the hosting of the conference for the first time.
Emui also thanked the participating provinces for attending the conference.
The three-day conference was held from Sept 27 to 30 and attracted participants from Manus, Kiunga, Daru and National Capital District.
The conference was challenging and educational for all health workers.
The speakers of the conference included representatives from government and church health services.
Representing the organisers Flora Dagina described the closing ceremony as moving as they passed on the banner to the next host province – Manus.
