Start screening MPs, candidates

Letters

ELECTORAL Commissioner Patilias Gamato is correct in saying that all intending candidates contesting election will have to go through thorough check of their criminal past before they are endorsed to contest elections. It is an overdue agenda and should be implemented immediately. However, where does it put some of our current parliamentary members who have criminal records. If the Electoral Commission is seriously taking a step to limit people with criminal background entering politics, it must be fair with all candidates. The screening should start from the Waigani tambaran haus.
