State urged to support basic service delivery

CARDINAL Sir John Ribat has urged the Government to support basic services for people.
“Leaders should have this nation at heart and the only thing they could do is really support the services for our people,” he said.
He said the Government must continue to support services such as education and health which benefitted the people.
“People trusted you and they know that you are also Christians. That is why they elected you,” Sir John said.
He said leaders had families, relatives and friends who must help the people.
Sir John urged the Government to set up an insurance scheme for old people.
“They are our people, they are getting old and they will go. But as the Government, can we have a little service that will really serve our old people,” he said.
