AN Anglican priest in Abau, Central, Fr John Madigobuna has challenged youths to not turn away from God.
He told visiting youths from the Holy Family Anglican Parish in Hohola, NCD, that choosing to follow God was like a marriage between couples.
“When we say yes to God, we should not leave God,” Madigobuna said.
He said a personal relationship with God involved cleaving and oneness.
“God wants us to be one with him in body, mind and spirit,” Madigobuna said.
“The journey of God is about wholeness, sacrificing our whole being, and not half. It’s not about going and putting half on Sunday only. It’s a holistic sacrifice to God in essence.”
Madigobuna said having a relationship with God was the key to Christian living. He said that cleaving was about God and the individual being together.
“What kind of relationship do we have with God? Is it a part-time relationship or is it a lifetime relationship?
“When you say yes to God, the weather becomes rougher, the mountains become higher, the road and the terrain become winding, it’s very hard and challenging. But if our relationship with God is firm, we can face the challenges.”
Madigobuna added that the challenges in life helped to shape and mould people become good strong Christians.
He said the life of a Christian was like a public notice board because others looked up to Christians.
“Having the right relationship that is God and you, is the important thing,” he said.
