Suburban 9s to wrap up

THE Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League competition will complete their pre-season super nines tournament this Sunday after completing the normal round games last weekend.
The league’s acting chairman Bosky Koke said the nines tournament has attracted 24 teams in six pools of four in each.
“The tournament kicked off on Friday, March 10 and completed the round matches on Sunday,” Koke said.
“The top two teams in each pool have qualified for the cup play off and the third-placed teams in each pool will have their play offs in the bowl division.
“The cup playoff winner advances to the cup elimination finals while the losers are pushed back to play the plate elimination finals.
“All this action will be hosted at Kone Tigers oval, Waigani this coming Friday (tomorrow).”
Koke said the semifinals and grand final would be on Sunday.
He said total prize money of K20,000 would be divided among the winners and runner-ups of the cup, plate and bowl divisions.
