EXPERIENCED sides in Central’s Aroma Coast West and Port Moresby’s Hohola Flies had too much class for their respective opponents in the second elimination round of the Southern regional club rugby league championship at Kwikila oval, Rigo, yesterday.
AC West ended Kerema Young Tigers championship run with a 56- 6 thrashing win while the Flies saw off the Poreporena Marlins challenge 34-18.
AC West and the Flies advance to the championship decider on Dec 11 in Port Moresby in which the two winners will represent the Southern Confederate in the PNG Rugby Football League’s national club championship on Jan 26 in Lae.
AC West with its big guns in former PNG Hunters Lawrence Tuu and Digicel Cup experienced Jarrod Haoda and Makara Hura steam-rolled the Tigers.
TheFlies with Isapea players John Andy, Jack Manda and Kambi Igiman out-muscled their Poreporena opponents.
AC West coach Chris Enara fired up his charges before the Tigers game and the pep talk paid dividens with the Central side scoring more than 10 tries.
