TWENTY National Capital District traffic police officers graduated from a three-week frontline leadership and supervision course last week.
The training was a refresher to better equip them in their frontline duties as supervisors in preparation for upcoming international events in the country
Assistant commissioner of traffic Jerry Frank congratulated the officers and told them he was impressed with the changes that were happening with the unit.
“I have seen a lot of improvement in the force and I am happy that there is discipline in the force.
“This course is just a basic to refresh you on what you should do as supervisors in the frontline,” Frank said.
He said as supervisors there was lot of work required of them.
“As supervisor you are to check the uniforms of every officer to make sure they wear proper uniforms with same colours; to ensure there’s fuel in the vehicles to make sure things are in place for operation,” Frank said.
“And to make sure of the timing and schedule in place for the officers to their duties in their respective locations and each shift has their own vehicle for their duty and files must be presented for any reports taken.
“Those are the basics that we normally forget to do.”
Frank said he was impressed that the traffic division was  elevated since last year and in a short period they had made a big impact.
He urged the officers to remember what they were taught in the training and be part of many more that would come in future.
