Transparency called for

Letters

I write in regards to the Registrar of Political Parties and Candidates being snubbed in the process of inviting a party to form the government.
This is a clear hijacking of the democratic processes as stipulated in our Constitution for the protection of the integrity of the political parties and candidates.
The political party with highest number of candidates should only be invited to form the government after all the winners have been declared and all writs returned to the governor-general.
For a developing and young democracy like Papua New Guinea, this kind of practice won’t help our electoral processes and the formation of the government during election times.
Let us always promote honesty and transparency in our democracy.
