Trio in court for alleged bashing

A COURT has referred two men and a woman to be tried in the National Court on charges of causing grievous bodily harm two years ago.
Waigani Committal Court Senior Magistrate Cosmas Bidar, pictured, found sufficient evidence to commit to trial Kaisy Kalama, 36, Wesley Monde, 41, both from Kokopo in East New Britain, and Georgina Ravu, 34, from Abau, Central.
“The court has considered that there is sufficient evidence and the case will proceed to the Waigani National Court,” he said.
It was alleged that on Sept 19, 2015 at Gordon Five in Port Moresby, the victim swore at Ravu’s little boy while under the influence of alcohol.
The victim was allegedly assaulted by the three.
According to a medical report, the victim sustained fractures to his spinal cord which could cause total paralysis or even death.
The court found that the case came down to the use of foul language and the evidence did not show any reason for the victim to swear at the young boy.
