Trustees give league trophies for finals

THE Lloyd Robson Oval Trustee board has sponsored the Port Moresby Rugby League competition’s grand final with trophies.
The presentation of the trophies to the league board was part of the commitment made earlier through Oil Search Limited to assist the PRL grand final with K40,000.
Oil Search representative Ruth Waram presented the trophies to PRL chairman Dr James Naipao, pictured, and his executives at the National Football Stadium Oval 2 yesterday.
Naipao thanked the Lloyd Robson Oval Trustee board for the trophies and also made a special mention of SP Brewery for working hand-in-hand with PRL since 1941.
“We have been together for the last 67 years and we are still here, all thanks to you SP Brewery,” Naipao said.
Naipao also praised the National Government for their continued support to sports that not only promoted physical fitness for talented Papua New Guineans but also made them better citizens.
“We are thankful to the Government, throughour Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko, for raising the standard of our facilities, making them world-class.”
Naipao said through the public-private-partnership scheme, the Government helped sports.
He also thanked Oil Search managing director and Lloyd Robson Oval Trustees chairman Peter Botten OBE for assisting PRL.
