Two Western MPs join PNG Party

Western Governor Taboi Awi Yoto and North-Fly MP Donald James have joined the PNG Party, bringing the party’s membership to seven.
Yoto and James signed an accord with the PNG Party on Friday showing that they had left their old parties, United Resource Party and People’s Progress Party, and would be part of the PNG Party for the next five years.
PNG Party leader Belden Namah thanked the two leaders for making their choices to join the party.
The general secretary of PNG Party, Kila Poka welcomed the two leaders into the party.
Poka said the party executive received the request from the two leaders on July 31 to join PNG Party.
He said the party executive held an emergency meeting and accepted their request to join the party.
Yoto and James thanked the PNG Party for accepting their request.
They said it was their people’s decision that they join the Alliance Team in Kokopo and also the PNG Party.
