U20s help rollout Fifa programme

ABOUT 90 school children took part in the International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) ‘Live Your Goal’ programme launch in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, on Sunday.
PNG Under-20 women’s soccer coach Lisa Cole said her players assisted run the one-day programme.
She said the school programme was hosted by the local organising committee and Fifa, with the involvement of the U20 women, Goroka Football Association and Goroka Grammar School.
The programme involved coaches teaching schoolgirls different football skills and techniques.
Margret Aka from the PNG Football Association office in Port Moresby launched the programme.
The ‘Live Your Goals’ programme is part of Fifa’s legacy for staging the U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea and targets young girls from the ages of six to 24.
The programme is aimed at promoting and empowering  young girls and women.
PNG Football Association senior vice-president Linda Wonuhali said the Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016 official slogan was “To inspire, to excel.”
Kimbe will be the next stop for the roll out and this should take place towards the end of October.
