A FISHING vessel owned by Lae-based Frabelle Fishing Corporation has rescued four of the six people who went missing between Manus and East Sepik waters last Friday.
Frabelle’s compliance supervisor Luke Remus said the firm’s fishing vessel Cherry Blossoms 88 rescued three women and a man near Karkar Islands, Madang.
The four were identified as Titus Tuan, Caroline Mungin, 43, Jane Kutau, 31 and Sarah Kutau, 27.
Remus told The National that the four would be in Lae today.
He said six people were reported missing but only four were rescued.
Manus acting police commander Senior Insp David Yapu said they were returning to Wewak on March 4 after their betel nut sales in Lorengau town.
They, however, did not arrive at their destination in Wewak as expected.
