Visitors interested in history, people, lifestyle

FOREIGN visitors have enjoyed Papua New Guinea’s culture and traditions, the National Cultural Commission (NCC) says.
NCC said they were interested in the history, people and their lifestyle.
It said most of the cultural items, the traditional knowledge and the art of making a living remained in the villages but a selection of cultural items were kept in the gift shop at the National Cultural Commission for exhibition and sale.
Australian government adviser Artie Jacobson with the Kokoda Track Authority (KTA) accompanied a team called Queensland Rangers to the gift shop last Thursday.
Jacobson said the Queensland Rangers had been working with KTA over the past week.
He said they had a brief meeting with Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tobias Kulang and later visited the gift shop.
Jacobson said the artifacts that the team bought would be displayed at the craft markets in Queensland and other parts of Australia.
