Wantoks retain top spot in public servants’ soccer

WANTOKS edged School of Government (SOG) FC 1-0 in the final game of the A-League in the NCD Public Servants Soccer Association men’s competition on Saturday.
Played at the Bomana Police College oval, the Eric Komeng-coached team maintained their top form to hold on the top spot of the A-League.
SOG, formerly PNGIPA, had to struggle to find the net resulting in them going home empty-handed.
In the other A-Leage men’s fixtures, POM Souths kept in touch with the competition pacesetter to beat ITI-sponsored Musa 1-0. City United collected three easy competition points after forfeiting Murat.
In the women’s, ITI Musa beat POM Souths 1-0, City United forfeited Murat women, while Wantoks beat SOG 2-1.
The B-League matches on Saturday saw Bagita Pascol beat Steamies 1-0 while the Kalibobo and Kerepia matches ended in dispute.
