WATER PNG will pay two clans in the Palnakaur ward of Kokopo K427,100 for the three bore-holes on their land.
They were paid K36,000 in 2014 by the provincial administration and the Kokopo City Commission.
The three bore-holes are at Vunabosco and supply water to Kokopo town.
Kokopo Mayor Diuvia Kopman said documents such as agreements and memorandum of understanding had to be done before the balance was paid to the landowners.
Kokopo City Commission chief executive officer John Talele said the landowners had agreed not to cause any disruption to the water supply.
Talele said the provincial administration and the Kokopo City Commission had assured the landowners that the payments would be included in the 2017 budget.
He said once the final installment was made, the lands division would facilitate land title to come under State ownership.
