Where are Northern’s leaders?

Letters

ORO provincial executive council chairman Gideon Jagipa was vocal on NBC Radio Northern on Feb 28 expressing his concern about the deteriorating condition of facilities and infrastructure at the Embogo Secondary School.
Grade 10 student Sandra Aikeba also expressed grave concern about the students learning environment and health saying there were 11-12 students in one cubicle in the dormitory instead of four students.
Sandra’s principal also expressed concern that the buildings in the school are the remnants of a health facility during the colonial era and nothing has been done by our successive governments and leaders to improve the school’s facilities since then.
It is little wonder that no students have been selected from Embogo Secondary to attend higher education institutions in the country since its establishment several years ago. Sadly, we can conclude what happened to the students who had attended that school.
It is no wonder that the small filthy township of Popondetta is full of drugs and home-brew, which have affected the mad people.
Communities in Northern are now infested with mentally affected young people who should be somewhere better in life.
I think the voters are also to be blamed for the kind of political leaders they have elected, including the current MPs who have badly neglected the school.
