Smokle from burning rubbish on the roadside in Madang is dangerous to both drivers and pedestrians. Every morning the section of road between New town Plaza and Hany Mart service station is full of children walking to school. Smoke from burning rubbish reduces visibility and increases the risk to pedestrians.
